“Wow! This is really too much for a payback”Victor said to William as they both sat on the sofa starring at Dinah who was having fun dancing amongst the crowd.
“Pay back? What do you mean?”William asked.
“You said you were going to have punish her but I think this is going too far”
“And who told you that am doing this to punish her?”William asked.
“Isn’t it what you are doing”Victor asked looking puzzled.
“Is isn’t”William replied still starring at Dinah.
“Then what exactly are you doing?”
“Proving to her that I can be a gentle man “He said.
“A gentle man? What are you saying? Don’t tell me that you…..you are interested in her?”Victor asked and William smile gave him the answer he wanted.
William knew that it was all so sudden but Dinah had slowly stolen his interest. She already stole it ever since the first day she insulted him through the speakers and she also got him more interested when she stood up to him yesterday. She made him see sense with what she said to him the other night.
He had always received everything he wants not caring how he got it. Demanding and also hurting others in the process. It grew on him so much that he began the king’s game just to have fun and no one did a thing to stop him until Dinah showed up.
He had wanted to apologise to her earlier but his pride took over and he ended up getting her more angry. When he found out that it was her birthday. He decided to organise a party so he could apologise and get to confess his feelings to her. He didn’t believe in hiding his feelings.
“This is crazy! Just when did she get manage to get to you. She was so angry at you just yesterday”Victor said.
“That’s why I did this to get her forgiveness and I plan on telling her how I feel tonight”William said still starring at Dinah.
“Do you think she will welcome you into her arms?”Victor asked.
“I will try to convince her of that”William replied as he got out of the chair. Heading towards Dinah who was now talking to Jenny.
“I need to talk to you”He said as he took her hand.
“What do you want to talk about?”She asked as she pulled her hand away. It felt strange having him take hold of her hand. Dinah thought.
“Let’s do that somewhere else. It’s a bit noisy in here”He said as he took hold of it again and before she could pull away. He pulled her out of the hall, heading to the garden where there were few people.
“Thanks for the party”She said softly as she tried to tug her hand free but his hold on it was strong.
“Am glad you liked it. It’s my way of saying sorry”He replied.
“Well you really over did it. It’s not that am not happy or grateful about it but I would have just preferred you saying it and nothing else”She stated.
“So do you want me to say it the way you want?”he asked.
“You don’t have to. Am happy with this”She replied as she smiled softly.
“Do you know that this is the first time I get to see your smile”He said.
“That’s because we are always fighting and…..”
“Let’s stop it then”He suggested quickly and that got her speechless.
Taking her other hand in his he pulled her close that she could smell the perfume he used.
“Let’s stop fighting and become……” He stopped when she pulled her hand away, putting a distance between them.
“I just forgot that I had something to say to Jenny. See you”she said quickly as she left William standing there heading back to the hall only to collide with someone.
The someone turned out to be the stranger that had helped her leave the room yesterday.
“It’s you”She said with a smile and Nathan stared at Dinah for a while before replying shyly.
“I didn’t get to thank you for yesterday”She said.
“You don’t have to thank me. I would have also done the same for someone else”He replied.
“But still. You helped me get out of this place when I was in danger. I still have to thank you”She said.
“Then your apology is accepted. Seeing that William organised this party for you then the feud must be over between you two”Nathan asked and she nodded.
“I hope it is. The thought of having to get into another argument with him is just too tiring”She said.
“Then let’s hope that doesn’t happen”He replied.
“Do you believe that we haven’t even properly introduced ourselves?”Dinah asked.
“Am not that important to…..”
“Am Dinah. Dinah Peterson. What’s your name?”She asked interrupting his words.
“Nathan Fisher”He returned as he sent her a smile.
“Nice meeting you. I hope we see more of each other “She added jokingly as she put fourth her hand to shake him.
He smiled and took her hand in his. Liking the fact that she is a cool and friendly person.
Suddenly their hand were jerked apart and William took hold of Dinah while he glared at Nathan.
?LEONARD RESTAURANT ?
Daniella stood in Leonard arms while he gently kissed her. She wouldn’t say this is her first kiss.
She had shared a few kisses with boys back in high school. She had always thought that kisses were the same but sharing this kiss with Leonard right now has made her think otherwise.
“What the hell is going on here ” A voice said and Leonard pulled away from her breaking the kiss between them.
“What do you think?”Leonard asked as he pulled Daniella close while the other woman gasped out in shock.
“Don’t tell you both are……”
“Gay. Do I really have to spell it out for you?”Leonard asked.
“But I was told that you are….that you are straight”She said while starring at his trouser.
“That’s what I made everyone believe but truth be told. This is who I am”He said and she stared at him bewildered.
“Then there’s no reason to keep up with the date”She said and Leonard nodded.
“Am glad that you get the drift. Sorry for having waste your time and don’t expect me to walk you out because am quite busy here”Leonard said as he turned towards Daniella to pull her close into his arms again.
“Your both disgusting!”She yelled at them before leaving the room.
“Did you see that! It worked” Leonard said excitedly and before she could stop him again he pulled her into a fierce hug.
“Your my lucky charm you know. With us acting like this. We will get rid of them in no time” He said with a lot of excitement.
“Your not saying a thing”He asked a while later when he saw that she was just quiet.
“That’s because you took me by surprise with your kiss”She said as she pulled away from him.
“Am sorry if I took you by surprise I was just…..”
“Refrain from kissing me like that or you will make me believe that you truly are gay”She said interrupting him.
“What! Fine then. I won’t touch or kiss you. Is that fine with you?”He asked angrily
“That’s fine with me”She returned fiercely as she turned to leave only to bump into Frank.
“I came to tell you that Miss Fiona is here”Frank replied as he steadied Daniella before delivering his message.
“She didn’t tell me that she is coming”Leonard said as a smile lit his face before he rushed out of the office while Daniella wondered who Fiona could be.
