DEATH ON BIRTHDAY – Episode 1

The time was 4:15pm. The sun was still up, not directly overhead. It was fast returning to its abode, a sign which anyone could easily interprete as a time to bring to a halt the activities of the day. This however, wasn’t the case at the governor’s villa. The fleet of SUVs, power bikes and some siren carrying vehicles arranged in order of hierarchy was a testament to this fact. It was obvious the governor was going out. Vehicular noise took over the air
as the first batch of escort drove out.
Governor Pete elliott, a dark complexioned man started towards the waiting vehicles he was dressed in a green flowing ‘agbada’
a local attire which did little to reveal his
bulging belly. Governor pete Elliott in
company of his wife stepped into the SUV
meant for them. the vehicles began slow
movement out of the villa.

80miles east of the villa. A man let down a
telescope from his view point. He was on
the highest floor in a hotel room. his
window was directly opposite the
governor’s villa. That was exactly why he
chose this particular room. He’d watched
the governor leave. he glanced his wrist
watch then picked a phone from the desk.
He dailed a four digit number
“5:16pm. the governor just left”
there was no response as usual. He hung up. He had done his job. In the moment that followed his phone buzzed. It was a bank alert huge sum of money was transferred to his account. He just did a job for someone he met on the internet. He shouldn’t be doing this but he needed the money. He was ex-military and hadn’t got a job after being booted out.

The state was on what you would rather literarily call a heat period. Its a week to the governorship election.
campaigns were at their peak especially amongst the largest opposition parties. Awkward enough is the fact that candidates from these opposing parties have tasted the seat of power. One was the incumbent governor, pete Elliott who was vying for second term. His strongest opposition was Hon Olundare, an ex-governor, former senator and a current aspirant. more recently there had been speculations of secret killings and clashes between supporters of these candidates.
In all of these, LETHAL a shadowy group of assassins remained neutral. They were strictly on business and set to kill for whoever met their conditions. If the contract is good, they swing to action and then you consider the job done. That was how good they were.

Recently a top government official from the opposition party hired them for a job: to eliminate gov Pete Elliott
