(HOURS LATER…….. CLEMENT’S HOUSE)
Confined in his magnificent house, Mr. Clement groans painfully as he walks steadily with clutches. His wife, Gina follows him slowly trying to support him as they both make their way to the living room.
.
Gina ➡ Take it easy darling. Easy now.
.
Clement ➡ God! Arrrhhh.
.
Gina ➡ Easy now. Fight the pain.
.
Clement ➡ Ohhh.. Oh lord.
.
Gina ➡ Come on, man up. Fight the pain. Stop acting like a chicken.
.
Clement ➡ WILL YOU SHUT UP? SHUT THAT HOLE YOU CALL A MOUTH!… Nonsense.
.
Gina ➡ Sorry darling. I didn’t mean to offend you.
.
Clement ➡ Keep quiet! Do you what it feels like to be shot on the foot?… Fight the pain, fight the pain. See your mouth. If you were the one in my position you’d be rolling on the floor and be crying.
.
Gina ➡ Sorry darling.
.
Clement ➡ Will you get out of my SIGHT?.. SEE THIS WOMAN O, calling me a chicken. How revolting. I’ll deal with you later. Nonsense. Maybe marrying another wife will put some sense into that fish brain of yours.
.
After lashing out on his wife, Clement proceeds to the living room on his own to meet his guest. Upon arriving there, Clement slips and falls hard on the ground but his guest soon came to his aid.
.
Clement ➡ Damn that stupid nanny. I warned her not to wax this floor too much. She’s making the tiles to be so slippery.
.
Chief Ekweme ➡ At least the ground is clean and spotless. You should double her salary. How’s your wound?
.
Clement ➡ It’s been patched up but the pain hurts so much. I can feel it in my spine.
.
Chief Ekweme ➡ I heard you shouting at Gina. You shouldn’t be hard on the woman.
.
Clement ➡ Forget her. She tried to be cocky but I’ve put her in her place and that’s underneath my foot. Sorry for this mishaps, would you like anything to drink?
.
Ekweme ➡ No, I’m fine. Let’s have a seat, there’s alot of us to discuss.
.
Chief Ekweme nelson, a minister of power and a dear friend to Clement. Both men have known each other for quite a long time and both are members of the *Prime X force* organization but unlike the other members, these 2 men have their own personal goals to accomplish.
.
Clement ➡ So what brings you to my house?
.
Ekweme ➡ I heard that the King has launched your Phantom program.
.
Clement ➡ Finally!! Yes! Good.
.
Ekweme ➡ But I also heard that Mallam Yusuf is going to be eliminated. Why would you do this to him? He only betrayed the organization because you told him who was behind Gambo’s death .
.
Clement ➡ Don’t bother about Yusuf. He’s collateral damage. But the real reason why I did this was because of one thing and that’s to lure that sick b–tch into the open and kill her.
.
Ekweme ➡ Kill who?
.
Clement ➡ Black Ace!
.
Ekweme ➡ What!? Are you insane?
.
Clement ➡ No.
.
Ekweme ➡ What made you decided to take on this suicidal act?
.
Clement ➡ That b–tch really burns me. I HATE HER!! She shot me this afternoon. I’m telling you Ekweme that she’s a wild cannon that needs to be destroyed. She’s too erratic.
.
Ekweme ➡ If the king finds out about this, it will not end well for you.
.
Clement ➡ Well, he won’t.
.
Ekweme ➡ Even so how are you going to kill the King’s pet? She’s too formidable and bloodthirsty. I doubt even the Nigerian army can take her down. She’s a living weapon with no weakness at all.
.
Clement ➡ You’re wrong. She has one weakness.
.
Ekweme ➡ Really? What is it?
..
Clement ➡ Her therapist. I don’t know what her relationship is with that young man but whenever he’s around, she tends to be more calm.
.
Ekweme ➡ Oh come on, It’s obvious that she’s in love with him.
.
Clement ➡ Don’t make me laugh. That cold hearted killer don’t have the heart to fall in love. I’m going to let Yusuf know what’s coming for him, it will allow him to get prepared for her. I hope he kills the crazy b–tch.
.
Ekweme ➡ You’re gambling with the devil here my friend. For your sake, I hope your plans work.
.
Clement ➡ Don’t worry. It will. It has to.

? IJEOMA ?
Committing a crime is easy but solve one is one hell of a big headache. I’ve solved many tough cases before but this one is the toughest. There was no leads or traces that would link us to the evidence or the killer.
Garba too was having a hard time, he did all he could to crack the case but nothing proved useful.
One afternoon as we were driving through the streets of Garki. We decided to stop at a nearby restaurant to have some lunch. The Sun was fully out on that particular day and atmosphere was full of heat, making it very uncomfortable for everyone except for those in air-conditioning offices.
.
Garba ➡ Sigh! This case is driving me crazy.
.
Ijeoma ➡ You’re not the only one. It’s so stressful and tiring. The case is a dead end, no leads, no evidence. We’re just washing our time chasing the wind.
.
Garba ➡ Yes but still the killer is out there and whoever it is, he or she is very very smart and organized. Maybe we should drop the case.
.
Ijeoma ➡ So you want the captain to fire us abi? Sorry o, I can’t be jobless.
.
Garba ➡ So what do we do? Pin the blame on some petty criminal ? Because if not there’s no way we can solve this case. If only we have someone that knows about the underworld of crime.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Hmm, now that you’ve mentioned it. I believe I know someone else.
.
Garba ➡ Really? Is she anyone I know?
.
Ijeoma ➡ No. Her boss was once a govt mafia but he was killed five years ago. Come on, let’s get going.
.
Garba ➡ No, you go. Here’s the car keys. I’m not done with my meal.
.
Ijeoma ➡ You’re seriously going to stay here? What about the case?
.
Garba ➡ Ke.. my top priority right now is to feed my stomach with food. Once you’re done, you can come back for me.
.
As soon as Garba gave me the keys to the car, I left the restaurant and entered the car driving off into the busy street.
After 40 minutes of driving, I arrived at my destination and then parked the car in front of a 3 storey building. The person I was looking for lives here in Kubwa and this building is where she resides.
Her name is Bonita ; she’s known for selling drugs. Her business gives her the opportunity to meet dangerous people and listen to information that are highly valuable and dangerous. Bonita and I met in an awkward circumstances, the first day we met was also the first time I nabbed her during a drug exchange and that wasn’t the last time I’ve been apprehending her but she always manages to get out.
So eventually, she called for a truce and her demands weren’t that bad. Her demands was that I would stop apprehending her and in return she would give me help me out with information regarding any case I was working on, that is if she has any knowledge about it.
So since then, we’ve been doing things that way without any problems but it’s not always that I get the information I need.
Just as I was about to get into the building, her security guard stood in my way so that I wouldn’t pass but as soon as I showed him my I D, he stepped aside and allowed me to enter.
Bonita was smoking some weed when I enter the room, She was obviously high but there was some part of her that wasn’t. As soon as she saw me, her eyes widened with shock.
.
Bonita ➡ Wetin now? Why are you here? I no do anything o.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Relax, I’m not here to arrest you. I’m here for some info.
.
Bonita ➡ I dey here.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Quit the pidgin English and speak correct English. Are you aware of the deaths that occurred last week.
.
Bonita ➡ Which one?
.
Ijeoma ➡ The death of those four politicians.
.
Bonita ➡ Yes.
.
Ijeoma ➡ I want you to tell me if you know anything about it. We’ve been tasked to find the criminal. If you have anything idea who it is, Tell me now.
.
Bonita’s weed fell from her lips as soon as she heard what I said. She quickly looked around the room and then looked back at me.
.
Bonita ➡ Look Ijeoma, this is over my head. I can’t help you.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Don’t f–k with me. Your reacts says otherwise. Tell me now or I’ll throw the book at you.
.
Bonita ➡ See you have a husband and kids right? If you value your life and theirs. Drop this case. It’s a death sentence.
.
Ijeoma ➡ What are you talking about? Do you know who did it?
.
Bonita ➡ Let’s just say that the people behind this are very powerful and dangerous. They’re literally untouchable. In fact they don’t exist.
.
Ijeoma ➡ I don’t understand. How come do they not exist?
.
Bonita ➡ I don’t know either. All I know is that they can’t be found. They can do whatever they want and get away with it. Fine and simple.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Nonsense. No one is above the law.
.
Bonita ➡ Sister! This is Nigeria. This people are above any law, in short, they’re been protected by the govt. If you keep working on this case, you’ll die like a cockroach and no one will do anything about it.
.
Never in my life have I seen anyone looking so scared and terrified. Any sensible human being would have listened and backed down immediately after hearing this but not me, I was ignorant and blind to the warnings directed towards me.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Just tell me who it is and I’ll be on my way.
.
Bonita ➡ I can’t tell you. I don’t want to die young but there’s someone that I know that might tell you. She’s a friend and an ex assassin.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Where is she?
.
Bonita ➡ She lives in Kano, in a neighborhood called Zoo road. But a word of advise, Go alone and don’t try to intimidate her. She has a family now and deserves the life she’s living. She’s been through hell so please drop your ego and behave.
.
Ijeoma ➡ What possibly can she do to me?
.
Bonita ➡ Don’t try to be cocky. She has a short temper and is liable to give you a direct ticket to the after life. Ask simple questions and never go out of context.
.
Ijeoma ➡ Alright then. I’ll behave. Let’s hope that she’s willing to cooperate.
.
Bonita ➡ What you should be worried about is making it out alive. Good luck.
.
